How it works

The LCS system performs the following tasks:

• automatically learning classifiers from given pre-classified documents (class examples), or interactively building a set of class examples and automatically learning classifiers from them (BUILDER and TRAINER)
• assigning new documents to categories according to a given utility function; measuring and reporting the quality and performance of the classification over time (SELECTER)
• automatically improving the quality of the classification based on feedback from the application and interactively adapting the category tree and the class examples to changing situations or objectives (CLASS MANAGER)
